The theme for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2023 was chosen by Christians in Minnesota, USA.
Isaiah exhorts the people of God in his day to learn to do good together, to seek justice together, to help the oppressed together, to give justice to the orphan and to defend the widow together. The prophet’s challenge also applies to us today.
How can we live our unity as Christians in order to respond to the ills and injustices of our time? How can we engage in dialogue, increase awareness, understanding and insight into each other’s experiences?
These prayers and heartfelt encounters have the power to transform us – individually and collectively. Let us be open to God’s presence in all our encounters as we seek to transform ourselves, dismantle the structures that cause oppression and heal the sins of racism. Together, let us engage in the struggle for justice in our society. We all belong to Christ.
