Thank You, Pope Francis – A Shepherd for Our Times, A Voice for Our World
With deep gratitude, we give thanks for the life and ministry of Pope Francis,
a pastor rooted in simplicity, courage, and the joy of the Gospel.
He reminded us that faith must be lived,
that the Church is a people on the move,
and that every person – especially the young – has a place in God’s heart and mission.

For the young:
“Do not let others be the protagonists of change. You are the ones who hold the future!”
— Christus Vivit, §174
“Do not be afraid to commit yourselves, even if you fall – God lifts you up.”
— Address to young people, August 2018
He believed in the youth of the world – in their creativity, their questions, their potential to renew the Church and society.
As Sisters of the Cenacle, we recognise ourselves in this mission.
We walk with young people, accompany them in their journey of faith,
and help them listen for the quiet voice of God calling them to deeper life and service.

A synodal Church:
In launching the Synod on Synodality, Francis invited us to walk together as Church:
to listen, to share, to discern – not as individuals or ranks, but as one pilgrim people.
“Synodality is the path God expects of the Church in the third millennium.”
At the Cenacle, we know the power of shared reflection and spiritual dialogue.
In accompaniment, we help others hear what the Spirit is saying today.

Care for creation:
With the encyclical Laudato si’, Francis spoke not just to Catholics,
but to all humanity, calling for a profound ecological conversion.
“Everything is connected.”
— Laudato si’, §91
His call to care for our common home affirms our own commitment to living simply,
walking lightly on the earth, and helping others see creation as sacred gift and shared responsibility.

Thank you, Pope Francis,
for trusting the young,
for affirming the gifts of women,
for calling the Church to journey together,
and for helping us hear the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor.
We, the Sisters of the Cenacle, will carry this vision forward
in prayer, in service, and in deep hope –
with and for the people of our time.
“The Lord does not seek perfection, but hearts that are open to His invitation and ready to respond with generosity.”
