Living the Youth Jubilee in Rome
The life of a Cenacle sister is full of surprises and adventures.
Living the Youth Jubilee in Rome is a perfect example of this!
Several sisters from France and Italy took part in this Jubilee in various ways.
Each one, according to her place of mission, allowed herself to be surprised, challenged, and moved by the thirst of these young people who came from all over the world to “pass through the Holy Door” with Christ.
Sr. Yoanna and Sr. Nathalie witnessed the enthusiasm of these 150 young people from the Diocese of Créteil, praying in silence before the Blessed Sacrament alongside 800,000 others from around the world!
Sr. Anne-Catherine experienced the same grace while accompanying 700 young people with the Magis Network.
What wonderl it was to almost touch – — it was so intense — the depth, devotion, and faith of these young people passing through the Holy Door at St. John Lateran. We listened to God, who filled the silence of the basilica: there was only Him, whispering in the hearts of the young.
What strength was revealed in the care shown for one another: an encouraging word or a helping hand when the path became difficult, a helpful tip for finding a good place to eat.
The Jubilee journey of these young people, who were each day experiencing more deeply God’s mercy, searching for their path, and longing for a nourishing spiritual life, fills our hearts and does us deep good: how beautiful it is to draw close to these young people. The discomfort, the fatigue, and the heat that were constant throughout the week did nothing to diminish our own enthusiasm for the mission.
See you in 25 years for the next Jubilee!
