Season of Creation 2023
The Season of Creation is a period extending from September 1st (international day of prayer for the protection of Creation) to October 4th (feast of Saint Francis of Assisi), during which Christians from around the world are invited to act to care for Creation.
It is an ecumenical time, initiated by the Orthodox Patriarch Dimitri I in 1989, then taken up by other Christian churches and officially recognized by Pope Francis for the Catholic Church in 2015.

We begin to “prepare our hearts, prepare our communities” for the Season of Creation now to call upon leaders across the diversity of our faith to actively participate by raising awareness on the theme, and on how to respond to the cry of creation wherever the Lord calls us in our respective contexts.
