What is the ministry of the Cenacle Sisters?

In what practical ways do the sisters work for the transformation of the world?
We do this through - Spiritual Direction; Retreats; Adult Faith Formation; Training in Spiritual Direction; Counselling and Therapy; Chaplaincy; Prayer Enrolment; Human Development and other Pastoral Ministries. Read more about the ministries of the Cenacle Sisters.
Where are the sisters in England and Ireland?
The sisters, at the moment, are living in Liverpool, Surrey Quays and Poole, in England. In Ireland they live in Dublin and Cork.
Where were the Cenacle Sisters founded?
The Cenacle began in 1826 in the Northern Ardeche region of France, in the midst of the turmoil of a changing world after the French Revolution. They were founded by Father Stephen Terme and Mother Therese Courderc.
What was the Vision of Fr. Terme and M. Therese?
“His life was one of love for our Lord Jesus Christ; he would have like to enflame the hearts of all people with his (Jesus) divine fire”[Cenacle Sharing, vol. 36]
Why the “Cenacle”?
Our way of life and ministry is inspired particularly by the mystery of the Cenacle (coenaculum or upper room) where Jesus’ friends gathered between Ascension and Pentecost, and were sent out in the power of the Holy Spirit to preach the Good News.
Is the Cenacle only in Europe?
No. The Cenacle is an International Congregation which can be found in 16 Countries on all 5 Continents.
Is there any other way of belonging to the Cenacle other than becoming a sister?
As Cenacle Auxiliaries we live out our vowed commitment within the ordinary circumstances of secular life.
As Companions we feel called to share the vision, mission and spirituality of the Congregation. We make an annual Commitment.
What is a Retreat?
A Retreat is a time to draw back from the hustle and bustle of daily life to a quiet place to rest, reflect, pray and deepen your knowledge of your relationship with God. A retreat varies in length but is usually anything from 2 to 7 days and some are up to 30 days. Find out more about our retreats.
Can I only make a retreat if I go away to a Retreat House?

What is Spiritual Accompaniment / Direction?
Our journey through life is a journey to attain our full potential, to become the individuals we were created to be. Spiritual Accompaniment / Direction can make available a person, who is trained, to accompany another on his/her spiritual journey.
What is a Vocation?
A vocation is a strong sense of being destined or called to undertake a particular way of living or undertaking a type of work demanding special commitment.
